Borrow from another library

Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state and nation. If you can't find an item in this library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library.

All you need to do is come to the circulation desk and ask Stacy, your librarian, if she can get the book (or movie or game) for you from another library.  Please have as much information as possible about the specific book or other item you want; for example: Title, Author, and copyright date, and date you need the item by.  Rockford Public Library works in partnership with the Charles City Public Library, so if your requested item is available there, your request may be filled in just one day, but most items may take a week or two to arrive. If the item is available from Charles City, there is no charge to borrow it. If the item is received from another library in Iowa, there is a $2.00 fee to help the library cover the cost of postage. Other conditions apply to requests that can be filled only from libraries outside of the state. The library will call a patron when their request is ready to be picked up.
