About the Library Director
Meet Jill Gray, our library director
Jill Gray is the Library Director of the Rockford Public Library and the Charles City Public Library. The Charles City Public Library has a relationship with the Rockford Public Library for administrative services. As director, Ms. Gray's duties at Rockford are the same as at Charles City. The materials are selected, cataloged, and processed at the Charles City Library for the Rockford Library. Rockford’s budget includes wages and benefits for a 28-hour-per-week staff person, media, education, and maintenance of their library. Charles City pays for supplies and labor of acquisitions. The Rockford Library pays the Charles City Library an administrative fee.
Jill came to the Rockford Public Library in October of 2010. Prior to that she had worked for the Galesburg Public Library and Kewanee Public Library in Illinois. Jill is a graduate of Dominican University. Prior to receiving her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science, she worked as a social worker in both Illinois and Iowa. Jill has two grown daughters.
